Wall of Remembrance Now Being Added to Korean War Memorial
In October 2016, President Barack Obama signed into law legislation authorizing the establishment of a Wall of Remembrance to be incorporated into the existing Korean War Veterans Memorial that currently resides on the National Mall in Washington D.C. The Wall of Remembrance will become the permanent home to the names of the 36,574 American servicemen and 7,174 Korean Augmentation to the United States Army (KATUSA) who gave their lives defending the people of South Korea.
A sloped, granite Wall of Remembrance will encircle the existing Pool of Remembrance, complimenting the original design of the memorial. The project is to be completed by Summer 2022, but the memorial will remain open during the 18-month construction project.
I registered for a flight but then everything got cancelled due to COVID. I have friends, in other states, who toured with Honor Flight and they said it was amazing. I hope to be included when the flights resume. Thank you for providing this service.
