It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the loss of Gary Drumheller, an amazing man who found many ways to let our Veterans know that they are loved and cared for in so many ways!
Back in 2010, Gary saw the vision of Honor Flight AZ, in ways that our Honor Flight AZ board had just begun to envision. He had already spent much of his time caring for veterans of all wars and knew that Honor Flight AZ offered an opportunity to show our Veterans honor and appreciation for their sacrifices.
As the years went by, Gary, as a member of the Sun City Elks Lodge, raised thousands of dollars to send dozens of WWII, Korean and Vietnam Veterans to Washington, D.C. But not only was he instrumental in helping to raise funds, he showed up at the airport almost every time we sent Veterans off to greet the Veterans and ask them about their service. He also went several times as a Guardian, paying his own way just so he could be with the Veterans on their day journey of honor! We are so thankful for the support and encouragement he blessed us with over these past 10+ years. Thank you for your service to your country. Rest well, Gary! Well deserved!
