AZ Cardinals Salute Our Veterans
On the beautiful Sunday afternoon of November 10, a group of Honor Flight Arizona Veterans, Guardians, Volunteers, and Board Members attended the Arizona Cardinals Game against the New York Jets at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
The Cardinals provided us a special “group” link that allowed us to do a fundraiser selling tickets, which brought in several hundred dollars.
Everyone enjoyed themselves, and the highlight of the event was having two of our WWII Veterans and their Guardian daughters go down to the field to be recognized during halftime on the jumbotron!
But what many people didn’t know was a fantastic encounter that took place off the field just before our Veterans were recognized. In the field entrance tunnel, the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team from Bolling AFB, in Washington, D.C. was waiting to perform at halftime. When our Board Member Matt, who was accompanying them, pointed out to the drill team leader the two WWII Veterans, the team quickly assembled to meet them and take a group photo.

I was honored to be in attendance at the game on 11/10/24. We were treated like kings on my honor flight in April 2023. I strongly encourage any veteran to participate in this wonderful honor to our nations hero’s.
