Honor Flight Arizona (HFAZ) is partnering with the Arizona State Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Sarah Ziker, Arizona State Regent, for an upcoming flight. HFAZ Hub Coordinator Diane Franzese was recently presented with a $25,000 sponsorship check from DAR to fund the trip.
As the Arizona State Regent, Sarah has taken on a project to sponsor an all-female Honor Flight three-day trip to Washington, DC in April 2026 to recognize and honor the service of female veterans who are also DAR members. This will coincide with the 250th anniversary of the United States.
This unique Honor Flight will include visits to pivotal landmarks meaningful to women such as the Military Women’s Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Vietnam Nurses Memorial, and the DAR National Headquarters in Washington, DC. In addition, the participants will visit the service-related memorials included on other Honor Flight trips.
DAR members continue to steadfastly honor all patriot ancestors who achieved American independence, and Honor Flight Arizona is proud to work with them to accomplish this special flight.
